Several unique design elements all come together in this top performing scuttle. The width at the base ensures a stable foundation for lathering, exterior ridges provide a sure grip, and the ergonomic handle has no equal. Interior grooves expedite the lathering process and the bottom chamber holds eleven ounces of the hottest* tap water that you can put inside. Ideally sized, this scuttle delivers warm soothing lather every time!

Created by a local potter to our design, each scuttle begins as two lumps of clay. They are thrown separately on a potter's wheel and afterwards melded together into one piece. The handle and compass rose are then affixed, it air dries for a week and then goes into a kiln for the bisque firing (2,300 degrees.) Following that it is dipped into the colored glaze and then put into the kiln again, this time at 2,500 degrees.

The beauty of this handmade item is that each one will differ slightly. The natural variation in the glaze along with the craftsmanship of each scuttle means that no two will be exactly the same. This work of art that each customer receives is truly one-of-a-kind! It will measure approximately 5” wide in diameter at the top, 3 1/2” tall, and there is an interior depth of 2” for creating your lather.
